Drops Of Life
DROPS OF LIFE
"A lost Drop, is a lost Life"
INTRODUCTION
Currently, water pollution represents a problem that extends
its long-term consequences in the lives of all people, in addition to the
environment and other species of living beings.
We all need this liquid to meet our daily needs for
hydration, hygiene, and other purposes that we already know, as well as other
complementary products derived from plastic, synthetic and chemical substances.
Our daily life is based on the constant consumerism of all these aforementioned
elements, but, in case we are having an awareness of everything we consume in
excess (including water) and everything we discard in excess, both the
environment and to the rivers and lakes?
Inorganic wastes and chemicals derived from these generate a
problem when they come into contact with water, whether in rivers, lakes, seas
and other bodies of water. And this problem is reflected to the naked eye in
the appearance of our local rivers and water bodies: most are dirty, look bad,
and are not fit for human consumption. In addition, many of us have already
noticed that climate change and natural phenomena have been modified year after
year, creating great environmental problems in places where they do not usually
happen, including our municipality.
We are not the only ones affected; the species of plants and
animals are forced to migrate to places where pollution is lower, although
their habitat can become sedentary, nomads, even losing several species
unfortunately.
On the other hand, as for the health of the human being, the
effects may not be so colorful or affect at least most people, but we are
talking about consequences that are slowly coming; time is complementing the
work of the long-term effects of contaminated water, slowly and silently
affecting the state of health of human beings over the generations, aggravating
illnesses, mutating them, or reaching the point of witnessing little by little
a shortage of water, due to lack of processing, overload of waste in water treatment
plants, or droughts in the main rivers that provide us to most cities.
It is very important to begin to take into account the
consequences of our "insignificant" actions, so to speak. When we are
carrying out an action that contributes to the contamination of water, perhaps
we will say: "Only I do, it does not affect anything a little",
without thinking that this same phrase is said by millions of people
simultaneously around the world.
Our actions, however small they may seem, count as a great
impact on the care of the environment and the preservation of the good state of
water in rivers, lakes, seas and other bodies of water.
But, if we really want a real change, we must start from
changing our mentality: stop being conformist, and start at once to do, not
think and say.
